Tonya Arlene Key of Forney, TX passed away peacefully at home on 4/11/2024.
She was born 9/25/1962 in Kaufman, TX to Jane Arlene McWhorter and Richard Garnet Hill. She spent her early years in Seagoville, TX until she and her mother moved to Dallas TX in 1970. She graduated from Samuel High School in 1980. She also attended Cosmetology School during her last two years of high school and obtained her cosmetology license in 1980. It was at Samuel High School she met Richard Wayne Key, the love of her life and they were married on 02/14/1981.
Tonya worked outside the home only a short time after they married. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, and mother to their son Ryan Wayne Key whom she adored.
She will always be remembered for her love of all things beautiful including flowers and plants. She was a wonderful planner, decorator and director of the household. Her talents resulted in many wonderful meals for her family and so many days and evenings on the back patio with them and their family dog Jagger, whom she loved, enjoying the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband Richard Wayne Key, son Ryan Wayne Key, her mother Jane McWhorter Smith of Forney, TX, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Garnet Hill.
