Tori Chenoweth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kane Funeral Home - Sheridan on Dec. 11, 2025.
Tori Ann Wayman Chenoweth, passed peacefully on December 10th, 2025 in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Born September 10th, 1974 in Wichita, Kansas to Tommy and Rosey Wayman, Tori became the third generation of a polo family, paving the way fora lifetime love of the sport and horses. While she loved playing, she became especially gifted with doctoring, known for her excellent equine leg care. Tori traveled the world following the sport, working with not only her father and brother but also many professional polo players. Her travels lead her to Wyoming, where she worked for two summers as a wrangler at Eaton's Dude Ranch. Tori quickly became friends with the locals and moved permanently to Big Horn in 2002.She would go on to work the score board at the Big Horn Equestrian Center every Sunday, earning her the nickname, "The Vanna White of Polo." She served as an officer at the local Elk's Lodge where she occasionally bartended. She adored and served her community, continued to build friendships, and especially loved her" old timers" who would happily chat with her during bar shifts. On February 8th, 2014 she married the love of her life, Tad Chenoweth, at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in an intimate ceremony while surrounded by family and friends. Tori lived in Big Horn surrounded by her beloved dogs, cats and horses, but she would always call her family ranch Quemquemtreu in Argentina her true home.

Tori is survived by her husband, Tad Chenoweth and stepson, Trey, parents Tommy and Rosey Wayman, brother Toby (Brittany) Wayman, nephews Jackson and Dallas Wayman, cousin Lori Tarbell, cousin Jenna Dees, aunt Elizabeth "Betsy" Graham, cousin Vanessa Graham, and uncle James "Jim" Sharp.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Hap and Susie Sharp, Billy and Boots Wayman, uncle Robert Graham, aunt Kittie Dees, and cousin Billie Jo Dees.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Tori's love of all children, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Near the end of June, 2026 a Celebration of Tori's Life will be held at the Big Horn Equestrian Center, in Sheridan, Wyoming.
