On December 30, 1975, God blessed Jimmy and Gwendolyn Brown with a baby boy—their beloved middle son—whom they named Torrance Quintrell Brown. Born in Newton County and raised in Covington, Georgia, Torrance grew up surrounded by love, family, and a strong sense of community.
Torrance graduated from Newton County High School in 1995, where he proudly played on the Newton County Rams football team. He attended Clark Atlanta University, becoming part of the CAU Panther family and building lifelong friendships. Known affectionately as “Bear,” Torrance’s warm spirit, strength, and humor left an imprint on everyone who knew him.
On January 21, 2026, Torrance entered his heavenly home, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and cherished memories. He leaves his love and many special memories with his loving and devoted mother, Ms. Gwendolyn Brown, his children: TJ, Talib, and Deondra, His beautiful granddaughter, Miss Dallas “Scoot” Jackson. Brothers: Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Jr. (Valveeta) Brown and Mr. Jimmeal Brown. His loving fiancée, Ms. Natasha Mills.
A Home- Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, 1:00 P.M. at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, 813 S. Cherokee Rd. Social Circle, GA 30025 Bishop Williams Davenport, Senior Pastor. Minister Marcello Banes, Eulogist. Assisted by others. Interment, Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington, GA. Mr. Brown will lie in-state at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Family and Friends will assemble at his mother’s residence at 12:00 Noon.
The family also invite's all family and friends to cherish Torrance's life with a visitation on Friday, January 30, 2026, 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 1163 Reynolds St. SW Covington, GA 30014.
