Toshia Smith Howard, passed away on August 14, 2025. Services will be Wednesday, August 27, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Great Faith Church, 4205 Cane Run Road. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Toshia was born on May 16, 1992, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the beloved daughter of Barbara and Zetrich Smith. She accepted Christ at an early age, attended Camp Quality and graduated from Iroquois High School. As a little girl, Toshia was diagnosed with Leukemia and Sickle Cell Anemia, but she didn't allow her illness to interfere with her living a full life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, and a treasured sister. Her world revolved around her family. She loved family gatherings and she made sure each moment together was filled with joy. She loved traveling, playing Monopoly and was always good at pranking people.

Toshia had an impeccable relationship with her mother. A mother/daughter relationship that you rarely see which was filled with unconditional love, trust and courage. A strong bond that no one could come between which she passed on to her own children. Their relationship was precious and was filled with compassion and empathy.

Toshia's sisters were her best friends. She shared a close bond with whom she created lasting memories of joy and togetherness. Her sisters were her safe place, and her partners in laughter and secrets. Toshia's bond with her mother and sisters was a treasure that time nor distance could ever break. Her favorite color was red-a reflection of her bold, vibrant, and beautiful soul. She lived with strength, resilience, and grace, inspiring everyone around her. Her life was a testimony of faith, strength, and love. Though her time here was brief, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family devotion that will never fade. We will miss her voice, her laughter, and her hugs, but we will carry her light with us always.

Toshia Smith Howard leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Quantez Howard; her precious son, J'Onte Johnson, her loving daughter, Heaven Smith; her dedicated parents, Barbara and Zetrich Smith; her sisters, Shameca Smith, Brittany Smith and Waynisha Smith; her brothers, Dominique Carter, and Zetrich Smith Jr.; her nieces, Janiya Beeler, Saniya Smith, Nakiya Rice, Nataysha Rice and Nevaeh Rice; nephew, Chris Rice Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
