Towanna Conder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Jul. 14, 2024.

Towanna J. Conder, 75, of Camby, went to be with her Jesus on July 13, 2024 at Franciscan Hospice House. She was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on September 18, 1948 to the late James and Eura (Beller) Doty. Towanna graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1967. She married her childhood sweetheart, Ed Conder, on May 11, 1968. Towanna had a heart for children and spent most of her life working in daycares and preschools. She was Director of New Life Assembly of God Daycare for several years before retiring from Children’s Village after 10 years. Because of Towanna’s patience and love, the children gravitated towards her. Her love for children inspired her to receive her associate’s degree in early childhood education from Ivy Tech in 2002.

Towanna enjoyed reading mysteries and romance novels. She loved her television shows, especially HGTV, ID, and soap operas. Towanna was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church of God. Her unwavering faith guided her through many years of illness. Towanna always saw the good in everyone and always put her family first. Her kindness and quick wit will be forever cherished.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ed Conder of Camby; daughter, Twyla Conder of Camby; son, Scott Conder (wife, Angela) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, James Conder, Eli Conder, David Deveries, Brad Deveries; brothers, Larry Hazel of Indianapolis, Perry Doty (wife, Patty) of Indianapolis; mother-in-law, Doris Conder of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Nina Collins (husband, George) of Mooresville; and brother-in-laws, Mike Conder (wife, Brenda) of Indianapolis, and Kevin Conder of Indianapolis.
