Tracey Ann Colvin of
Denison, Texas passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Tracey was born December 24, 1978, to Clemen Simpson and Michelle Lee in
Henderson, Texas. Tracey is survived by her husband Eric Colvin of
Denison, Texas; son daughter Kerina Colvin and son Kyle Colvin both of
Denison, Texas; Father Cleman Simpson of
Tatum, Texas; Mother, Michelle Lee of
Denison, Texas; Sister Kristina Lee Simpson of
Denison, Texas; Granddaughters Emberlynn Fulce and Amelia Fulce as well as countless friends and extended family.
Tracey was preceded in death by her grandmother Isabelle Lee of
Pearl River, Louisiana; Grandmother Helen Polston of
Tatum, Texas, and cousin Melissa Morel of
Slidell, Louisiana.
Tracey was raised in her hometown
Pearl River, Louisiana. She attended college at SAU in Magnolia, AR and also studied at Grayson College. She moved to
Denison, Texas in 2003. Tracey previously worked at Cigna. She loved her time as a store manager of Waldenbooks and then later worked in home health providing hospice care. Her career was cut short in 2015 when she then became a Warrior for the remainder of her life.
The Saints gained the loudest and proudest cheering fans. At youth sporting events, she loved to root for her bonus children and every one of their teammates. She even rooted for the opposing teams' children. Tracey let each child know that each one of them had her as fan in the stands. She always cheered for everyone. She also loved ringing her bell and rooting for the local Yellowjackets. While her love of all things were Louisiana, she made Texas her home. She married Eric in October 2016 in
Sherman, Texas. She was loved by her family and community. Her laughter made everyone smile, she always put others first and always had words to share. She loved her family, friends, and her faith.
Tracey was more than a loving wife and a bonus mom. She lived passionately and she loved food and welcomed all forms of music. Her family and being a GiGi was her strongest joy. As a bonus mom, her love was unconditional. She supported Kerina and Kyle wholeheartedly in each of their adventures. She was one of their biggest fan. She bragged about each of them to every family member, to every friend, to anyone that would listen. Her love for both children was unspeakable.
As a wife, she loved fully.
As a daughter she was loving, a confidant, and best friend.
As a sister she was unconditional in her love and support, always a best friend to her sister.
As a friend, she was the one you wanted to be around. She would do anything for her friends and be there no matter what. She told you like it was but no judgement came from her. Always a hug, always kind words, always supportive advice. Having Tracey as a friend was a blessing.
Tracey's faith was unshakable. Her love for the Lord and his word were something fierce. No matter what Tracey was going through, she always stood strong on the word of God and knew without a doubt that he would carry her through.
Lastly one of Tracey's most important things in life was being the best GiGi for Emberlynn and Amelia. Tracey said "They both are nothing short of an absolute blessing. They teach GiGi daily and don't even know it yet, of all the gifts I understand why Love is the greatest."
Eric and the family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Texoma Medical Center, Denison Davita Dialysis Center and Doctor Torres.
Memorial Services for Tracey was held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Parkside Baptist Church in
Denison, TX.
