Tracey Lane Downing

Tracey Lane Downing, 51 was born on April 7, 1973 in Lamar, Colorado and passed peacefully in her sleep at home on October 24, 2024 in Colorado Springs after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. She will be interred in a graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado at a date to be determined.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at All Veterans Funeral Home, 1020 East Fillmore St., Colorado Springs 80907. Chaplain Joel Walker will officiate.
Tracey was a devout Christian who dearly loved God, her family and friends, her St. Bernard dog, Snoopy, as well as her career at the USAF Academy. She was trained as an OR Specialist in the U.S. Army and following six years of service, graduated with an Associates Degree from Concorde Career College as a Surgical Technologist. Following graduation Tracey worked at several Colorado hospitals as an OR Specialist and enjoyed the last 15 years of her career at the Orthopedic Clinic of the 10th Medical Group, USAF Academy, where she continued to work in an administrative position until the day she passed. Tracey was passionate about her country and dearly loved helping people and her patients. She truly enjoyed fixing things and owned every tool imaginable, loved puzzles and organization within her home, was meticulous with her finances, and was giving to a fault at times. Tracey truly will leave a void in our hearts and will be missed immensely.
Tracey is survived by her parents David and Cathy Downing; an older sister, Kelli Crouch; and a 17-year-old niece, Molli Crouch - all of Cary, North Carolina.
