It was Monday morning, March 23, 1981, at 6:05 AM in
Thomasville, GA when you came into my life and instantly became my Pumpkin. From the very beginning, it was pure love. You were my mini-me-such a good baby with a big heart. Pumpkin loved deeply. She had no problem telling you exactly how she felt and letting you deal with it afterward. She cherished her family and treated her friends as family, too. Though she was an only child, no one would ever have known it.
Pumpkin was a fighter. She fiercely protected the people she loved and could bring a smile to anyone she met. She attended Boston Public Schools, where she formed many lifelong friendships.
At six years old, Pumpkin was baptized by the late Rev. Willie Dubose, Jr. at 740 Tremont Street. She was so excited-she told everyone she met that Jesus saved her. She knew and believed in the power of prayer. Pumpkin sang with the Voices of Hope and Sunday School Choir, served on the Jr. Usher Board, and was an active member of Sunday School and BTU. Her only lead song was "Keep the Faith," and she held onto those words throughout her illness.
Fighting was simply part of Pumpkin's nature. She had always been a warrior, and on Saturday night, November 29, 2025, Pumpkin won her final battle with cancer. She entered the presence of the Lord and joined her beloved grandparents-her grandmother who affectionately called her "Plum," Eddie B. Bennett; paternal grandmother Janie Lee Clark; grandfather Harry Robinson; Popi Dea. Isaiah Floyd; Nana Deac. Thelma Floyd; aunt Jolene Bell; and bonus daughter Destini Morris.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to be cherished by her mother, Tracy D. Robinson (Montenia F. Collier); father, John H. Clark (wife); husband, Waverly B. "Taurus" Jordan; daughters, Trakaya L. Ashford, Nadajia C. Jordan, and Tanajia G. Jordan; sons, Malik A. Jordan and Makei A. Jordan; granddaughters, Nalah J. Burleigh and Noelle S. Burleigh; goddaughters, Alliyah U. Pantaleon and Zaharia A. Richemond; godson, Amari Q. McNair; aunts Hazel L. Robinson, Marcia R. Brown, Avis Hasan, Evelyn Floyd, Donna M. Floyd, and Jean Floyd; uncles Gregory L. Robinson, Brian E. Robinson, Isaiah A. Floyd, Cedric Floyd, and Calvin Floyd; and cousin-siblings Philip J. Robinson and Nia R. Robinson; special friends, Alecha L. Pantaleon, Jason Cheatham, Tamia Z. Duboyd, Jessica Williams, Sacharis Ferguson, Max Johnson, Tiffany and Corey Richardson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pumpkin touched every life she encountered, and her love, laughter, and strength will forever remain in our hearts.
