Tracy Barnard Harris, born on July 14, 1968, in Moultrie, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. A son, brother, uncle, and friend, Tracy's life was a tapestry woven from love, laughter, and unwavering support for his family and friends.
As a dedicated family man, Tracy cherished the bonds he shared with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved siblings, Shaunta (Isaac) Goodwin and Samuel (Lawanda) Butler, Jr., who will forever hold in their hearts the memories of their cherished brother. Tracy was a proud uncle to Rico Harris, Jadakiss Martin, Arielle Williams, and Rosalynn Moore, who fondly remember the warmth and joy he brought into their lives. His role extended into the next generation, as he embraced his status as a great-uncle to Devonte Lafavor, Jr., Xion Stokes, Miarra Moore, Dy'shayla Moore, and Jordyn Harris. Each of these young ones carry a part of him forward, illuminating their paths with the lessons and love he instilled in them.
Tracy also leaves behind a treasured extended family, including his stepdad, Anthony T. Walls, and uncles Minister Clinton (Annie) Floyd, Floyd (Carrie) Green, Jr., and aunt Thelma Harper, along with great-aunt Flora (Ellis) Hanks and great-uncle Odell (Kaynon) Daniels. These connections were vital to Tracy, as he found great strength and camaraderie in sharing moments of life with each of them.
Tracy is preceded in death by his father, Benny Polite, his mother, Rebecca W. Butler, and his brother, Emanuel (Manny) Butler, as well as his nephew, Anthony Lewis (Tiny) Shealy. Their memories will continue to be honored and cherished by those who remain.
In remembrance of Tracy's vibrant spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Luke Strong & Son Mortuary in Moultrie, Georgia. The event will begin at 6:00 PM, inviting all who knew and loved him to gather in reflection and celebration of a life well-lived, filled with a love that transcends time.
Tracy Barnard Harris may have left this earthly realm, but the profound impact he made on the hearts of those who were privileged to know him will resonate forever. His laughter, love, and spirit remain a guiding light for all of us, reminding us to hold each other close and cherish every moment we are blessed to share.
