PARNELL-Tracy Jones, age 65, of rural Parnell, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Tracy was born September 9, 1960, in Iowa City, the daughter of George and Harriet (Berg) Fry. She graduated from Mid- Prairie High School and attended the University of Iowa for two years. On July 9, 1983, she married Kenton Jones in Iowa City. Tracy worked as a telephone operator for the University of Iowa for 44 years. She enjoyed collecting roosters, being outdoors, gardening, camping, playing cards, cooking, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and going to her grandkids’ activities, especially dance recitals.

Survivors include her husband: Kenton Jones of Parnell; two sons: Kyle (Stacy) Jones of Williamsburg and Trent (Katelyn) Jones of Earlville; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Cora, Evelyn, Cooper, Tucker, Miles and Oliver.; sister: Connie (Robert) Andersen of Kalona and three nieces: Erin Froeschner, Sara Mulhauser and Jenna Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the funeral home.

A general memorial has been established. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Kalona is caring for Tracy and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
