Tracy Mather Obituary
Tracy G. Mather, 83 of Shelton, passed away on October 6 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's surrounded by his loving family. Tracy will be remembered by all who met him as a true man for others, always putting their needs before his own. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, teacher & friend. He spent his entire 35-year teaching career in the Stratford School System as a Physical Education Teacher retiring in 1999. Tracy loved spending time with family and friends. His favorite place being the Cottage @ Twin Lakes and annual summer family vacations. He was a HS Football Referee for 40 Years, always working Thanksgiving Rivalries and numerous State Championship games. He later served as State Rules Interpreter and was inducted into the CT High School Football Hall of Fame in 2010. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 61 years Patricia, his sons Jay (Amber) of Seymour, Brian (late Nicole of Shelton, and his cherished grandchildren Andrew, Austin (Jackie), Jillian and Dylon. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews as a loving uncle. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 18, from 11am to 2pm at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Avenue, Shelton. In lieu of flowers it was Tracy's wish to make Donation's to the Pay it Forward CT Foundation. Pat, Jay, and Brian - you know I have loved you all for a long time and that Tracy/Dad was very special to me. He was such a special man and was loved by all and many. He and his wonderful smile will always be remembered by everyone. Know you all are in my heart and prayers. I am sorry to miss the services, but will see you all soon. XOXOXO
