Tracy Tebbs Obituary

Visit the Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial Gardens website to view the full obituary.

My beloved father, Dr. Tracy Welch Tebbs, has completed his earthly life at the age of 65 on February 1st, 2026. He passed unexpectedly at home with his daughter, Blake Emily Tebbs Dingman and son in law Johnathan Gregory Dingman, surrounding him. He has now joined my sweet mother, Janelle Kay Morlock Tebbs (deceased), and other loved ones celebrating their life together on the other side. He dedicated his life to Christ and serving others through a lifelong pursuit of learning as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Tracy was the middle son of six kids. Louise Tebbs Wilson, Baby Tebbs (deceased), Mitchell Welch Tebbs, Linda Tebbs (deceased) and James Welch Tebbs. He was born to James Meeks Tebbs (deceased) and Emily Welch Tebbs Reiman (deceased). Born in Lovell, Wyoming in the Bighorn Valley on November 8th, 1960.

When he was a baby he lived in Cowley, Wyoming and grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he loved being on the swim and dive team and was introduced to painting. He grew up in the saddle, shooting, riding dirtbikes and enjoying nature. The family then moved to Salt Lake City and Herriman, Utah where he had his sheepdog, Wiggles, was top of his Speech and Debate club, played the cello gorgeously and graduated from Herriman High school. During his mission trip to Uruguay he experienced great friendship and miracles because of his faith. Coming back from his mission he moved with his mother and brother Jim (James) to the Bay Area, California. He worked hard cleaning offices and homes with his mother and loved that time with her, she was so special to him. He enjoyed spending time with his cousins and family. He enjoyed traveling and got to backpack Europe seeing historic places he had always dreamed of. As his health deteriorated he moved to be with his mother (Emily) and stepfather (Donald Reiman) to Kirkland, Washington. He always had an eye for details and learning about history which led to his love of antiquing.

While welcoming people into church and handing out programs he met his sweetheart Janelle Kay Morlock Tebbs and fell in love. During their courtship he was battling Wilson’s disease and he sought treatment from a Chiropractor in Tucson, Arizona for a year. This is where his life was changed through Chiropractic care and knew he wanted to become a Chiropractor. He wanted to do all he could to bring comfort and healing to others. He truly had a gift of healing and miracles, he was always guided to know how to serve others so they could be healed and be in tune with the spirit. As a child he knew he would do something with his hands and was very protective of them so he didn’t want to play contact sports. That truly protected him to become what the Lord asked.

During his treatments he constantly talked about Janelle and his love for her and later proposed. They were then married for time and all eternity on September 4th, 1992 in the Seattle, Washington Temple. They started their life in Issaquah, Washington where they began their life of serving others together. They traveled the world together and loved matchmaking. They had lifelong friends and were great at staying in touch and making others feel special. After choosing a Chiropractic school they moved to Kansas City, MO to study at Cleveland Chiropractic where his talents shined. The couple were born to be great parents and welcomed their daughter Blake Emily in July of 1997. He graduated in 1999 and the family moved to Smithville, MO where they continued their life of creating a happy atmosphere where everyone was always loved and welcomed. He suffered a great loss of his beloved wife in January of 2007 and found great comfort in knowing he would live with her again. He testified of that throughout his life through his words and his example.

He dedicated his life to his daughter and was the best example of creativity and fatherhood. As he loved life he kept the tradition of entertaining and learning. He went above and beyond in all things and sought great comfort in the fact that his dear wife and mother were on the other side offering heavenly help. He dreamed big and helped his daughter and others know all was possible through Christ. There are many memories cooking together, traveling to enjoy the ocean and nature together, sharing love through needlework and so much more. He truly protected his family because of his prayers and his faith in miracles. He taught many things to his daughter; how to enjoy life, not take things too seriously, creating beautiful things out of nothing and to always know she was loved immensely.

He served in the Kansas City Missouri Temple for 10 years as a temple worker and looked forward to going every week. He was passionate about sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to all because it brought him such happiness. He was an example of finding joy in the little things and recognizing details of the Lord’s creation. He loved getting to teach the youth about Christ and was always creative in his lessons to make it fun and memorable.

Throughout his life he never met a stranger and could make anyone laugh. Tracy truly was a gift to all and made each person feel important. He never let negative experiences affect him and always showed generosity and love. Throughout his adulthood he was deaf and never let that stop him from getting to know someone and talking with them even though it took a lot of energy.

He truly took time to enjoy the little things in life and lived enthusiastically. He never stopped dreaming and creating new friends while caring for his loved ones.
