Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend
Travis Joseph McCarthy passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Mass General Hospital in Boston from bacterial meningitis. The gift of Travis changed our world on July 15, 1993 when he was born at Lowell General Hospital to Paul and Joan (Abreu) McCarthy of Lowell.
Travis graduated from Lowell High School in 2012 where he was a member of the football, wrestling and track teams. Travis then went on to attend the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Upon his graduation in 2016, Travis worked for Woodard and Curran at the Concord, MA water treatment plant and most recently for Cedar’s Foods in Haverhill, MA.
Travis enjoyed attending concerts, playing golf, going to Disney World, socializing with his friends and cousins and traveling. Trav never missed a chance to attend a Red Sox, Bruins or Patriots game, no matter how terrible the weather. He loved the time he spent with his nieces and nephews playing games, watching movies or just hanging out most of all.
Along with his parents Paul and Joan, Travis will be deeply missed by his siblings Andrew McCarthy, Charles Kelleher III (Bethany), Jaclyn Kelleher Roy (Matthew), his nieces and nephews, Abby Lynn and Logan Roy and Aidan and Cailyn Kelleher, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and his lifelong friend Nathan McCarthy.
Travis was predeceased by his grandparents, Ann Marie and John McCarthy and Doris and Joseph Abreu, as well as his cousins, Melanie Ann Costanzo and Kelly (McCarthy) DelGreco.
Relatives and friends are invited to Travis’s Life Celebration, on Sunday, from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M., at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10 AM, in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of his cousin Kelly Ann to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
