Travis Jourdain Pitre, 54, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:49 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in a local hospital.

Travis was born on September 7, 1969 in Los Angeles, CA and was raised in Lake Charles where he was a 1987 graduate at LaGrange High School. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. 

He was a cherished friend, a free spirit, and a vibrant presence in the lives of all who knew him. Travis was known for his warmth and openness and he never met a stranger. He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel like a friend. Travis lived each day on his own terms with a fearless heart and a joyful spirit. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Charleta M. Pitre of Lake Charles; children, Desmond J. Chatman (Chelsea) of Rowlett, TX, Travis Guillory (Zeynep) of Houston, and Melody Douglas (Reginald) of Houston; a bonus daughter, Brittani White (Robert) of Houston; siblings, Terrie D. Pitre of Waco, TX, Trethia “Tia” Pitre of Lake Charles, Tawana Thompson of Lake Charles, and Devin Thompson of Lake Charles; granddaughter, Angel Chatman of Baton Rouge, LA; a niece, Torrie Pitre of Lake Charles and her daughter, Marleigh Griffin; and a nephew, Tauge Fulton of Waco, TX.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Rommel Tolentino will officiate. Burial will follow in Combre Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until leaving for the church at 11:00 AM with a rosary being recited at 10:00 AM.
