Travis Vann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Goldsboro on Sep. 21, 2022.
Travis Blake Vann, 39, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home.
Travis was born in Wayne County to Debbie Vann Barrow of Goldsboro and the late Gary Edgar Vann. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Lucille Braswell and Sam and Agnes Vann.
Recognized for his star talent on the baseball field while in High School at Eastern Wayne, Travis was awarded a scholarship to play at Lenoir Community College post-graduation. He received an additional baseball scholarship that helped him continue his studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Completing his studies at East Carolina University, Travis received his Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.
A valued employee of Metal Crafters in Goldsboro, Travis utilized his education and skills in producing custom metal products for customers. From railings to gates to enclosures, he was a valued asset in creating the perfect product for each job.
Friends of Travis appreciated his sense of humor, love of music, and his vibrant personality. Friendships were never short-term for him. Once you were part of his circle of friends, you always had a place to belong. To be around Travis brought great joy, many laughs, and plenty of good times. Travis enjoyed life with all that he had and enjoyed it all the more in good company.
While friends held a special place in Travis's life, they didn't compare to his family. In times of ease or stress, he was devoted to each of them in a special way. Family was important to him, and he made sure they knew of his love for them.
A graveside service celebrating Travis' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022 in Willow Dale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm Street, Goldsboro. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Travis will lie in state at Seymour Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
In addition to his mother, Travis is survived by his sister, Sherry Dawn Vann; uncle, Ralph Braswell and wife, Kay; aunt, Kay Ferrell and husband, Donnie; and several cousins.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in his memory to the George Whitfield Baseball Clinic, 216 Hardingwood Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
