Trellie Smith, age 91, of Cottondale, Alabama passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Old Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery in Nauvoo, Alabama. Rev. Penny Ford, Rev. Jim Smith, and Rev. Tim Childers will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Trellie was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Day Street, mother, Floy Griffith Street, husband, Clyde Wesley Smith, and seven brothers, J. D. Street, Clarence Alfred Street, Carl Edward Street, Earl Gilder Street, Jack Street, Billy Gene Street, Sr., and Kenneth Ray Street.

Survivors include her two sons, Carl Wesley Smith (Teresa) and James Edward Smith (Kathy), her daughter, Jane Elizabeth Montgomery (Tony); grandchildren, Amanda Weems (Matthew), Amber Smith, James Smith, Jessica Grantham (David), and Robert Montgomery; and great-grandchildren, Brooke Weems, Benjamin Weems, Joshua Weems, Jeremiah Weems, Isaac Weems, and Madeline Grantham, brother, Wayne Street, and sister-in-law, Sharon Street.

Trellie was a loving, caring person to all of her friends and family and loved spending time with them. She loved sharing in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, family gatherings, participating in church events, and playing bingo. She was a perfect example of a Christian, always putting others before herself and living each day with kindness and unwavering faith.

Honorary pallbearers include Faye Noland, Lonnie and Katie Clay, Carol Richardson, friends of former Cottondale United Methodist Church, friends of Trinity United Methodist Church, the staff of Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Scott Fulgham and the staff of Tuskaloosa Internal Medicine, the staff of Heritage Health Care and Rehab, and all of her many, life-long friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Trellie's honor can be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Trinity United Methodist Church.
