Trena Harris Adams

HAMPTON, VA - Trena Harris Adams, a beloved mother, granny, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia, at the age of 78. Born on September 13, 1946, in Ahoskie, Hertford County, North Carolina, Trena lived a life filled with love, dedication, and passion.
Trena devoted nearly 38 years to her career as a hairdresser, where she brought joy and confidence to countless clients. Her love for her work was evident to all who knew her, and those fortunate enough to sit in her chair left feeling rejuvenated not only in appearance but in spirit.
Outside of her professional life, Trena had a deep affection for simple pleasures. In her younger days, she relished visiting the beach, enjoying the sun's warmth and the serenity it brought her. Later in life, she found tranquility in being at home, tending to her garden, where her beautiful flowers flourished under her care. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Trena's legacy of love, kindness, and grace will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
Trena is preceded in death by her mother, Florence Harrell Harris; her beloved husband, Michael Adams; and her siblings, Bill Harris and Vicky Bryant. She leaves behind her loving family: sons, Lee Adams and his wife Beth of Yorktown, VA, and Mark Adams and his wife Debbie of Hampton, VA; her adored grandchildren, Michael Adams (Hanna), Matthew Adams, Grace Adams, and Maddie Adams, all of Virginia. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Harris and his wife Gayle of Colerain, Doug Harris and his wife Pat of Ahoskie, and Sam Harris and his wife Kathy of Hudson, NC; her sister, Ellen Miller of Morganton, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel, with burial at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC after the service
