Tressie Ganas Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tressie Lucetta Ganas, who departed this life on August 16, 2025, in Virginia Beach. Born on September 29, 1964, in Washington, D.C., she lived a life dedicated to her family, faith, and passions, leaving us at the age of 60.

Tressie's most treasured role was that of a devoted housewife. She cherished her time spent with her family, particularly enjoying long walks with her grandchildren. During these walks, she found joy in listening to and watching cardinals, and marveled at the beauty of morning glories, moon flowers, and sunflowers.

A true aficionado of the arts, Tressie found pleasure in singing and crochet, creating pieces that reflected her love for beauty and intricacy. Her Christian faith was deeply rooted in her identity, providing guidance and strength throughout her life.

Tressie is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thurman and Luella Cottrill, and her brother, Gordon Cottrill. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to her surviving family: her children, Joseph Richard, Audrey Cottrill, Natalie Ganas, Bruce Ganas, and Elizabeth Ganas; her siblings, Christine Prine, Charlotte Lee, and Glenn Cottrill; as well as her adored grandchildren, Blake Ganas, Natalia Dennis, and Jax Holder. She will also be missed by her husband, Bruce Ganas, and their faithful dog, Ellie-Mae.

The family extends their gratitude for the expressions of love and support during this time of grief. Tressie will be fondly remembered for her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to those she loved. May her memory be a guiding light to all who knew her.
