November 18, 1945 – January 12, 2026
Trina Janet Koldyk, age 80, of
Hope, RI was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, January 12, 2026. Janet was born November 18, 1945. She was a graduate of
Wayne, NJ High School. She was a faithful child of the Lord attending Preakness Valley Reformed Church in
Wayne, NJ. She later met her husband Henricus and was happily married for over 53 years. After they were married and lived in several states, they eventually settled and made Vermont their home. She was a faithful, cheerful and active servant for the Lord at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in
Windsor, VT for 50 years before moving to be close to family in
Hope, RI. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and a humble follower of Jesus Christ.
Janet loved visiting with family- the bigger the crew, the happier she was! The highlight of her year often consisted of everyone coming up to Vermont on Columbus Day weekend to enjoy the great outdoors together. Apple picking and mountain climbing was enjoyed by all. She shared a beautiful bond with her sister Hilda that was so special, which made the Vermont family visits even that much better. Janet loved teddy bears and every room had a bear that added warmth to the home. She also loved baking homemade goods. As tasty as they were, her home-made ice cream cakes for a birthday party were the best. Janet also loved flowers and the yard was filled with beauty due to her passion for flowers.
Janet was predeceased by her parents Harry Meyer and Wilhelmina Brain. She is survived by her children Henri Samuel Koldyk and Brandon Joel Koldyk and her 2 sunshine girl grand-daughters Janet Koldyk and Samantha Koldyk. She absolutely loved being with her granddaughters, and it was a highlight of her latter days to be living with them. She always tried to bring a smile to all her family and friends.
Once Janet moved to Rhode Island to be close to family, she loved attending Faith Chapel in
Cranston, RI and quickly became friends with the members there.
Her immediate surviving family includes siblings Hilda Tanis, Joseph Meyer and Garry Meyer along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom she all loved very much. Calling hours will be held at the Davis Memorial Chapel in
Springfield, VT on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 10AM-noon followed by a brief service there. Burial will be at a future date to be determined at Oakland Cemetery. The family would like to thank Trinity Evangelical Church in
Windsor, VT and Faith Chapel in
Cranston, RI for their hospitality, love and support during this time. While saddened at Janet's passing, we rejoice she is in the loving hands of God. Just like her husband Henricus, Janet's final wish for all would be to receive the same free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord that she so graciously received as a young lady. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
