Troy Eugene Bene, born on July 29, 1930, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, at the age of 94.
Troy’s life was defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a quiet determination that left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Beginning his career at the age of 17, Troy worked alongside his brother Buddy at Storm Printing in Dallas, Texas, where he dedicated over 20 years and steadily rose through the ranks through hard work and perseverance. Later in life, he became a part owner of Mercantile Printing, where his leadership guided the company until his retirement.
Troy shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cecilia Ann Bene, until her passing on September 27, 2001. She, alongside Troy, served as the loving foundation to their family.
Troy is survived by his seven children: Judy Barsoum (Joe), Pam Roberts (Gerald), Alan Bene (Sherae), Scott Bene (Pam), Chris Bene, Keith Bene (Kathy), and Kevin Bene (Magda). His legacy also lives on in his 17 grandchildren: Brad, Clayton, Lindsey, Jordan, Justin, Rachel, Troy, Cole, Zachary, Joshua, Nicholas, Alexander, Luke, Matthew, Ethan, Austin, Aaron; as well as his seven great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Teagan, Jade, Landry, Ivy, Lily, and Beau. He is also remembered by his niece Charlene and nephews Bobby, Jackie, and Troy Wayne.
He was the last surviving member of his generation in the Bene family tree. Preceding him in passing were his parents, George and Vena Bene, his brothers, Buddy and Glen Ray, and his sisters, Doris and Charlcie.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Troy's life will be held at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell, Texas, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11 AM.
Troy’s memory will forever be cherished by his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
