Troy Douglas Blevins, 87, entered into rest on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Troy was born on July 19, 1936, in Cullman, Alabama to the late Troy and Lena Blevins. A true patriot, Troy honorably served in the United States Air Force and went on to work in civil service on Robins Air Force Base as a production manager until his retirement. Described as a hard worker and a good provider, Troy never let the grass grow under his feet. He was the first to lend a helping hand where it was needed, volunteering with Happy Hour, Trinity Methodist food bank, or sitting with hospice patients. Continuing the involvement in his community, Troy was also a member of both the VFW and the Moose Lodge. In his free time, Troy enjoyed a variety of activities. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and camping, and loved the Georgia Bulldogs. He will be deeply missed by those he loved.
In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Patricia Blevins, second wife, Wilma Jean Blevins, and children, Leslie Blevins, and Shawn Blevins; his siblings, Amelia Jones, Sammy Blevins, and Allen Blevins.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Tammy Faux (Rod) of Kathleen and Troy “Tiger” Blevins, Jr. of Fort Valley; grandchildren, Taylor Crane (Grant), Dusty Blevins, and Dylan Blevins; siblings, Marci Keith of Decatur, AL, Jack Blevins (Rhonda) of Decatur, AL, and Jerry Blevins (Jane) of Decatur, AL along with several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Troy will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Troy Blevins to Happy Hour (HCAEC Inc.) at 202 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093, or Pruitt Health Hospice at 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, GA 31210 or online at https://www.pruittcares.org/.
