Troy Wilson Lamphear, 89, Grove, OK, died January 10, 2026, at his home. Troy was born on February 19, 1936, in Cherokee City, AR, the son of Irvin and Evelyn (Dawson) Lamphear.
Troy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was married to the love of his life, Joyce Lamphear, for 54 years before her passing in 2016. Troy worked for BF Goodrich in Miami, Oklahoma, for 18 years before retiring due to medical reasons.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and crafting birdhouses, benches, and clocks. He also loved attending country concerts, playing poker with his family, and traveling together. Above all else, Troy treasured the time he spent with those he loved.
Troy was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his daughter Carol Vandever, son in-laws Bill Safranek, Dave Thomason, Bruce Vandever, sister Frances Gallinari, brothers Eugene Lamphear, Harold “Bud” Lamphear, Marvin Lamphear and Daryl Lamphear.
Troy is survived by a son Steve Lamphear (Susan) of Grove, OK, daughters Vickie Larson (Steve) of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan Safranek of Cocoa, FL, Bonnie Thomason of Missouri, Diane Hampton (Robert), of Zena, OK and adopted granddaughter Christina Lamphear of Miami, OK, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Honoring Troy’s life serving as casket bearers will be Seth French, Clinton White, Preston Howard, Ryan Cox, Garrett Cox and Brad Reese.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2026, funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2026, both at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Troy will be laid to rest in Maysville Arkansas.
