Troy Lee Smith, 72, of Marion, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville.
Troy was born in McDowell County, NC, on February 19, 1953, to the late Jeff Franklin Smith and Carrie Lawing Smith. Troy enjoyed playing his guitar and was a talented artist who loved to draw. He will always be loved and remembered.
In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Smith, Glenda Boyd, and Dorothy Letterman; and three brothers, Jimmy Smith, Junior Smith, and Eddie Smith.
He is survived by three sisters, Ella Clark, Carolyn Randolph, and Annie Smith; three brothers, Kenny Smith, Johnnie Smith (Jamie), and Robert Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty Smith and Penny Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
