Mrs. Trudie Brantley Mixon, 77, of
North Augusta, SC, wife of fifty-six years to Billy Mixon, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Jewell Mae Weathersbee Brantley. Trudie was a member of the LBC class of 1966.
Trudie had a rich career holding a number of administrative positions at various organizations including MCG, Pan Am Airlines, Aiken County School System, Curtis Baptist School, the VAMC, etc. She spent the majority of her career as a licensed insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance and was ultimately employed by Allstate Insurance until her retirement. In each role, Trudie found true joy in serving others both personally and professionally. Always bold, never afraid to share her faith in the Lord, she had a unique way of reaching out to everyone she encountered and helping them see their identity in Christ.
A devout Christian and woman of great faith, she was a former member of Langley Pentecostal Holiness Church and Hillview Baptist Church, and was a current member of the Langley Church of God. In each church, she served in many capacities without hesitation. Whether working with youth and participating in outreach alongside Billy, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, or organizing fellowships and events, she worked tirelessly in her purpose of sharing the gospel with others.
Trudie loved beautiful flowers and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She also enjoyed camping at the lake and traveling, particularly trips to the beach and the mountains. From her youth to adulthood she was fearless and loved all things fast and loud - from boats, to sports cars to roller coasters, she lived life to the fullest. Her laugh was infectious and her charm and genuine personality were impossible to resist. She literally never met a stranger. She had deep unconditional love for her family and friends but it did not stop there. Expressing her love to everyone she met was a common occurrence. You were told you were loved and received a "hey baby" or "hey darling" if God allowed you to cross her path. A light to others, one could not only see God's love shining through her sweet smile but could also feel it. A caretaker by nature she always wanted the best for everyone and would help others at all cost.
Humble with a pure heart Trudie lived in God's righteousness and truth. She truly embodied the love described in I Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV) - Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails.
She adored her family and did everything possible to meet their needs and they in turn, loved and adored her beyond measure. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy. Above all, she kept her eyes on the cross and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Trudie is survived by her husband, a daughter, Patricia "Patti" Mixon Levins, her sister, Marvis Baynham, aunts, Pat Guglieri and Mary Wilson (Jerry), nephews (including spouses), extended family, church family, and longtime cherished friends. She is preceded death by her nephew Scott Allen Baynham.
