Truman Jerome Durfey (Jerry)
TJ Durfey Passed away December 1 2025 in Cheyenne Wyoming, at the age of 85. He was born December 11th 1939 in Basin Wyoming, to Truman & Ethel (Tonak) Durfey he was raised in the Big Horn Basin area and graduated College from University Of Wyoming, he later used is degrees to work for the Bureau of Land Management in 1962 and retired in 1997 after 35 years of service, his career was very fulfilling as he was a Natural Resource Specialist, and was a Service protection Manager, he also went on several tours fighting fires throughout the United States holding a variety positions, he was also a First Aid Instructor, he also had a Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force. Jerry was devout Husband and Married the love of his life Emma Leda (Knopp) Durfey in which they shared loving their family, Children and Grand and Great Grand children, they both loved serving the First Baptist Church and the Lions Club in which up until there deaths were devoted to the club, Jerry holding the position of District Governor and they travelled throughout the United states attending many conventions. Truman Jerome Durfey is proceeded in death by Truman A Durfey (Father), Ethel A Durfey (Mother), Emma L Durfey (Wife), Dale Durfey (Brother), Debby Bandsept (Daughter) Judy Couldry (Daughter) John Couldry (Son In Law), Selena Van Buren (Grand Daughter) He is Survived by Joseph & Alison Durfey, Randy Van Buren, Cheryl Strange, Deanna Lewis, Patti & Allen McKim, Grand Children, Nathan Durfey, Shanai Durfey, Aisha Durfey, Jolene Matz, Christina Lantis, Angela Couldry, Robin Roswold, Amanda Bandsept, Jeremy Bandsept,and Great GrandChildren. Burial Services will be conducted in the spring in Basin Wyoming.
