Twyla June Krawczyk, a cherished resident of the Mountain Home community in Arkansas, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Oregon, Illinois, at the age of 90. She was born on April 2, 1935, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Ernest and Opal Conklin Stiegelmeyer. Twyla married Stanley Krawczyk on January 4, 1991, in Geneva, Illinois. She dedicated her professional life to telephone repair and was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Lucent Retirees Organization, and the Loyalty Fellowship Service-Pioneers Network. Her love for gardening and her active involvement in community service, particularly through the First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, brought joy to her life and those around her.
Twyla is survived by her two sons, Michael (Valerie) Bailey of Elburn, IL, and Richard Bailey of Oregon, IL; her daughter, Brenda (Ken) Evans of Sycamore, IL; and her two sisters, Deborah Carroll of Amarillo, TX, and Judith Rogalski of Rochelle, IL. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Danielle (Sean) Burke, Anthony (Elizabeth) Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Jennifer (David) Simmons, Nicole Bailey, Lauren (Rob) Teske, Christian (Meghan) Bailey, Chris (Ellen) Evans, and Amanda (Matt) Orth, as well as 13 great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Opal Stiegelmeyer; her husband, Stanley Krawczyk; her brothers, Charles and Ernest Stiegelmeyer; her sister, Coletta Lundeen; and her granddaughter, Caitlin Bailey.
A Funeral Service honoring Twyla's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, with Reverend John Fleming officiating. Entombment will be at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local suicide prevention organizations, reflecting Twyla’s compassion and commitment to helping others.
