We are heartbroken to announce the death of Tyler Thad Steadman, who passed away at the age of 39 on July 16th, 2022, in his home in Eagle Mountain, Utah after a long battle with chronic depression. Even through the midst of his suffering, he was able to hold on to his compassion and softness. These are the gifts that made him such a beautiful human, and why so many people loved him.
Ty was born on March 8, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was an empath, an athlete, and a talented musician, who loved hiking and the outdoors. He was gentle, funny, tender-hearted, and adventurous. He preferred to go off-trail, finding his own unique way, instead of sticking to the boring path. He often found individuals who needed extra help and were often overlooked, but he saw them and served them with an unconditional love. He loved dogs, most, especially his beloved Tilly. Music played an important role throughout his life, and he loved writing, performing, and recording it as well as being part of a few bands off and on.
More than anything Ty would want to be remembered for being a loving father. This was the role he valued most, and where he found his sense of self- worth. He adored his children and poured his heart into every moment he had with them.
Ty graduated with his Associates Degree from Weber State University, then continued on to receive his BA and master's degree in Audio Engineering and Music Production from the Berklee College of Music. He then went on to develop a career as an Audio and Broadcast Engineer, most recently working with the Paralympics in their Broadcasting services.
Tyler is survived by his beautiful twin daughters, Indigo Fawn Steadman (8) and Jane Meadow Steadman (8), his ex-wife Kirsten Sage Fonnesbeck Steadman (Shane Smith), his girlfriend Allison Rud, her two children Addi Leigh Rud (12), and Aiden Thomas Rud (9), his parents Randal Von Steadman (Debra Steadman) and Robin Wood (Bruce Wood), sisters Lauren Layne Steadman (Shane Guymon) and Lynsey Leia Strader (Benjamin Strader), and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends who love him.
Until we see your sweet face again, goodbye and Rest in Peace to our T. Texas Tyler, Tigger, Ty guy, Tiz, Little toot, Mr. T, Tyrece, Brosef, Hollywood, T-Steady, T-Y, T-Dawg, Tylee, Ty-Dad, Papa, Dad.

In lieu of flowers, there has been a Gofundme account set up to help with funeral costs, and Ty's cremation. Any help would be very appreciated, and anything donated beyond those needs will be given in a fund to help his sweet girls, Jane, and Indigo.
