Tyra Marks

Tyra Michelle Marks, 73, of Monroe Township, New Jersey born on August 26, 1951, to the late James E. Williams Sr and Carrie Brown Williams. She departed this earthly life and received her wings on Friday, October 11th, 2024, at Manor Health Rehabilitation Center Freehold, NJ.
Tyra was born and raised in Asbury Park; she was educated and by A.P. Public School district and graduated from Asbury Park High school. Tyra went on to pursue her career as a License Practitioner Nurse. She was employed by Jersey Shore Medical Center as an LPN for many years until her sudden illness.
In 1972, she met the love her life Jerome Marks at the Orchid Lounge and the two became inseparable. The two became one in marriage in 1980. It was their love and honor of their vows that kept this union for forty-four years. From this union one son Shawne Marks and five grandchildren.
Tyra was a loving and dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt cousin and friend.
Tyra was loved by many; she was a friendly outgoing person with an affection smile and contagious laughter. She was very stylish and meticulous about her appearance. She enjoyed the finest things of life. She loved her family and was known for bringing them together by, hosting family friends' gatherings, pool parties and cook-outs.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, entertaining, and reading novels.
Tyra is predeceased by her parents James and Carrie Williams, her in-laws Wiley Mae and Willie Frank Peters, and brother James Williams Jr., two sisters, Marlene Brown and Oreanne Williams Bracero.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband Jerome Marks and loving son Shawne Marks, daughter in-law Candice Marks and five grandchildren Ivan,Trishawne, Zuri, Ezra Marks and Layla Reeves, three sisters Cheryl Love, Tinton Falls, Joaquin Williams, A.P, Cerise Ramsey, A.P, Adrienne (Earl) Washington, Neptune; her sister in-laws Sandra Peters, Jamesburg, Bonna Peters, East Brunswick, Dorothy (Vincent) Wilson, Willingboro, Lana (Calvin) Sexton, Somerset, Khaleedah Peters of Monroe Township; her brother's in-law Willie George Marks of Jamesburg, and Lathaniel (Alicia) Peters of Middletown, MD.
Her dearest/best friends Mary (Louis)Williams, and host of other friends Lorraine Marks, Lisa Newman, Quintina Parks and Rachel Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
