Tyron Jamel "Mel" Smith

Tyron Jamel Smith, "aka Mel", was born on September 4, 1980 to James and Mary Smith in Jesup, Ga. He was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and was a member of the graduating Class of 2000 and a former employee of Krystals Restaurant in Jesup, GA. Mel was a member of New Creations under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Carter. He was a bright and loving soul and will forever be remembered as such.

Mel made his transition on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mozell Moore and his aunt, Doretha Porter.

Those left to cherish his memory: his loving parents, James C. and Mary M. Smith; his sisters, Tynita, Tymeshia, Natalia and Shaquila Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will surely miss his presence.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, @ 11:00 AM at Emory Chapel United Methodist Church, 311 N. Hickory Street, Jesup, Ga. 31546.

Interment in Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery.

Repast at New Covenant Family Life Center, 682 W. Walnut Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
