In Loving Memory of Tyrone "Cube" Watson (March 30, 1967 - February 5, 2025)
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed to us." -Romans 8:18
Tyrone Watson, age 57, of Columbus, transitioned peacefully with the Lord on February 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 30, 1967, in Columbus, Tyrone grew up in a loving family that taught him to have an appreciation for life, love for his family, to respect others and to always keep "GOD" first in all his doings.
Tyrone had a lifelong passion for sports. He enjoyed playing basketball and was an enthusiastic supporter of his favorite teams-The Ohio State Buckeyes football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Boston Celtics, which he considered the "ultimate" basketball team. His love for sports was infectious, bringing energy and excitement to every game he watched or played.
Those who know Tyrone will remember him for his warm smile, his unwavering support, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication to family, friends and associates will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tyrone's presence will be deeply missed and may the memory of him bring comfort and strength to all who cherished him.
Tyrone is preceded in death by Parents Don Edmond Lipsey Sr. and Gloria Diane Watson, Maternal-Grandparents Mary Frances Watson and Albert Watson Sr., Paternal Grandmother- Ernestin Lipsey-Hill, Paternal Brother Don Lipsey Jr.
Tyrone is survived by his children Tyrone J. Watson, Tychelle A. Watson, and Mariah Chapman; his grandchildren, Lillie and Nova; his sisters, Michelle Watson and DaMona Lipsey; his brothers, DeVaughn Lipsey and Derrick Lipsey; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to thank Ohio Health - Grant Hospital ICU, for caring for our loved one and as reported, the Columbus EMS workers who diligently worked to provide quality service during our loved one's crisis. Thank you to all the individuals who visited Tyrone and the family at Grant Hospital. Thank you so much for your support. We are forever grateful.
Jeramiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord.
Rest in peace, Tyrone. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
"I thank GOD for the 55 years of my life that he has allowed me to share with you. Me, You, and Mommy-a bond that can never be broken by any outside forces of this world. Just as you were when we were kids, you will always be my Love, my Superhero, and my King. The true brother and king that you were in my life. Thank you, Ty." Sister Michelle.
