Vontessia Nicole Johnson Nosike, 53, affectionately known as 'TC' or 'Nicole' passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, after a long-term illness. Vontessia was born on September 28, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio, to Valeria Johnson and J.W. Salters.

Vontessia was a 1989 graduate of Independence High School. She moved to Hawthorne, California after visiting a relative which led to her marrying and having 3 children. While in California, she worked at DirecTV as an accountant. She returned to Columbus, after receiving a new job opportunity which allowed her to continue to raise her children in the city where she grew up.

Vontessia was a writer and poet. She published a book of poems entitled, "From Pain to Poetry vol. 1: Expressions of Healing through Poetry."

Vontessia is preceded in death by her mother Valeria Johnson-Pace, father J.W. Salters, maternal grandmother Polly Johnson, and nephew Sean Johnson. She is survived by her children Ian Afam Nosike, Bryan Osita Nosike, Valerie Maureen Nosike, sisters Tiffiney (David) Sloan, Tera (Joshua) Bagley, Tiy Johnson, Brandie Morrison, Quenishia Pace, brother Don (Manya) Morrison, all of Central Ohio, Aunt Elspeth Hudson of Cortland, Ohio, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
