Ulyess U.L. Bordelon Jr., a beloved member of the community and a dear friend to many, passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville, LA on October 3, 2023, at the age of 70. Born on August 21, 1953, U.L. embraced life with a passion for adventure, craftsmanship, and the beauty of nature.
U.L. was a man of many talents and interests. He found solace in hunting and camping, immersing himself in the serenity of nature. He gracefully wielded his woodworking skills, creating a craftsmanship of his dedication to honing his skills.
Travel was one of U.L. greatest joys. Whether embarking on a road trip to explore hidden gems, Ulyess cherished the experiences and memories made along the way. He had a spontaneous spirit, always eager to embark on a new adventure and discover the beauty that the world had to offer.
Beyond his love for nature and travel, U.L. also found joy in beekeeping. His passion grew as he tended to his hives, appreciating the created honey they produced. Ulyess's dedication to beekeeping was a testament to his reverence for the environment and his desire to contribute positively to the world around him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, 9:00am to 11:00am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura to honor and celebrate U.L. Bordelon's life. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend and pay their final respects to a man who lived life to the fullest. Inurnment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura, LA.
In this time of mourning, let us remember U.L. Bordelon Jr. for his adventurous spirit, his skilled craftsmanship, and his dedication to the beauty of nature. May his memory remain eternally in our hearts, offering comfort and inspiration to us all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyess Bordelon Sr. and Octavia (Lachney) Rabalais; half-brothers, Robert Dauzat and Glenn Dauzat.
Those left to cherish his memory daughter, Heather Thomas Hess; stepdaughter, Jessica Lachney; brother, Cecil Bordelon (Pat); half-brother, Gerald Dauzat (Rosa); sister, Freida St. Romain Dauzat (Ronald); three grandsons, Mikey Hess, Vinnie Hess, and Garret Nilsen (Caylene); and three great-grandchildren.
U.L. will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those lucky enough to have known him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of many.
