CAHABA MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL: Announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Ulysses James Mitchell on April 9, 2025.
ULYSSES'S LIFE STORY:
Brother Ulysses James Mitchell
Services for Ulysses James Mitchell will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Mt. Ebell Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Cooper Avenue, Brent, Alabama 35034 at 11:00 A. M., Reverend Gregory B. Dumas, Pastor-Officiating. Services will be provided by Cahaba Memorial Funeral Chapel, 100 Patridge Street, Brent, Alabama.
Brother Ulysses James Mitchell AKA "Mitch" was born on February 4, 1945 in Centreville, Alabama to the late Rosice Jim Mitchell. He worked as a mechanic for Cecil Crews and the County Commission until he retired. Mitch loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Vera L. Mitchell; one daughter, Mary Brown; and one brother, Gene Stacy.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: three daughters, Kathy Mitchell, Belleville, Illinois, Valerie Mitchell, Brent, Alabama and Yolanda (James) Mitchell, Centreville, Alabama; one son, Tim (Nita) Brown, Centreville, Alabama; four nieces that he help raise, Veronica Hill, Debra Hill, Consuelo Rutledge and Tajuanna Rutledge; two brothers-in-law, James Brown and Karl McMillian; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hill; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, ten great nieces and nephews, nineteen great grand nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tommy Joe Moore.
PUBLIC VIEWING: Will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Cahaba Memorial Funeral Chapel 12 Noon until 4:00 PM
FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held on Saturday, 19, 2025 at Mt. Ebell Missionary Baptist Church 11:00 AM Rev. Gregory Dumas will be the Eulogist
BURIAL: Cooper Cemetery Centreville, Al
