Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home and on Monday June 23, 2025 from 10 A.M. until service time at Davis Springs Southern Methodist Church. Urson Stevens "Bill" Bacle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, WWII Veteran, and lifelong Freemason, passed away on 19 June 2025 at the age of 100. Known for his adventurous spirit, sharp mind, and endless collection of stories, he touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from June 1943 to April 1946, during World War II. He later commissioned into the U.S. Air Force in September 1951, serving as a flight line mechanic and part-time engineer. He retired from the Air Force in April 1970 with the rank of Major. His dedication, bravery, and commitment to service shaped the man he would become and remained a source of great pride throughout his life. A lifelong explorer at heart, Bill could often be found scouring the land with his metal detector, uncovering relics from the past that sparked his love for history, especially wartime artifacts. When he wasn't searching for hidden treasures, Bill loved riding four-wheelers, fishing at the pond, and spending time at his Arkansas camp house, one of his most cherished places. At home, he was never without the company of his beloved cats, Princess, Scamper, Fluffy Tail, and Sukoshi. Above all, Bill valued his friendships. He was a loyal and proud member of the Masonic Lodge, where he forged countless bonds with his Masonic brothers, and participated in their many gatherings and traditions. His friendships extended far and wide, and he will be remembered for his kindness, storytelling, and unwavering support to those around him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clotile Walker Bacle and his parents, Urson and Lucille Bacle. He is survived by his son, Steve Bacle and wife Youson; his granddaughter, Kathy Bacle; and numerous cousins. Mr. Bacle was also survived by a special caregiver, Brenda Hamilton and a very special friend, Tina Saxon of Texas who was his guardian on the Heroes Flight to Washington, D.C., as well as friends, Maxine Dickerson and Barbara Gillis. Pallbearers will be James Turner Wilson, Mitch Taylor, Anthony Thomas, Steve Shipp, Sammy Alexander and John Pinckard. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Gardner, Jerry Hamilton, James Dodd, Marvin Lester, Terry Brown, Jonathon Pinckard, Timbo Lindsey, Stanley Williams, Allen Loften, Don Kelly, Don Gibson, Edgar Cason, Ron Bledsoe, Billy Bledsoe, Gary Pemberton, Ray Sepulvado, Ron Webb, Lanny Fiel, John Barr, Hao Nguyen, Bill Hamilton, Turner Johnson and Felix Payne. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Sarah Herbel and the doctors, nurses and staff of Christus Coushatta Health Care Center and Specialty Rehab for their excellent care.
