Ursula Jaussi Obituary

Ursula Zurcher Jaussi was born on May 11, 1948, in Solothurn, Switzerland, to "goodly parents." She passed away peacefully at her home in Smithfield, Utah on Thursday, December 11, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer for 20+ years.

Ursula had a deep love for her Heavenly Father-and appreciated His sense of humor. After five years of marriage, four beautiful children, and a busy home to run, she once looked at Kyle and asked, "Is this all there is?" She soon discovered the answer was a definite "No!" Her real adventure was just beginning.

Music was one of Ursula's gifts, and she shared it generously-playing in church, at funerals, and anywhere there was a need. Her testimony and love for the gospel traveled with her everywhere she lived. Her very first move from Smithfield, UT to Ogden, UT (40 miles) felt like crossing the world, but once she made that emotional leap, the many thousands of miles that followed came a little easier. She became an expert at calling new schools and bishops; making sure her kids were looked after no matter where life took them.

Ursula's journey started in Switzerland. At age two, she immigrated to America with her family and eventually settled in Smithfield, Utah where she met the love of her life, Kyle Richard Jaussi. The two were later married in the Logan Temple. Life brought many changes-especially after Kyle lost his hearing-which led the family from Utah to California, then on to Iowa, Kentucky, Arkansas, Wyoming, and finally back to Cache Valley.

Wherever she lived, Ursula jumped wholeheartedly into serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held countless callings-organist, Primary President, Relief Society President, Sunday School teacher, Young Women's President (Ward and Stake), early- morning seminary teacher, and many more. She blessed lives quietly, steadily, and with so much love.

Ursula lived the qualities described in Proverbs 31:10-31-truly a virtuous woman, devoted, strong, charitable, industrious, and full of grace. Her legacy is one of faith, service, humor, and deep, lasting love.

Ursula is survived by her husband, Kyle; her six children Tonya Jaussi Hill (Husband, Shane Hill), Teresa Jaussi Berry (Husband, David Berry), Troy Jaussi (Wife, Kari Conrad), Jason Jaussi (Wife, Nicole Miller), Jennifer Jaussi Bailey (Husband, Brian Bailey), & Kendall Jaussi (Wife, Kirsti Findlay); 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren and 3 more on the way!

There will be a private viewing for family only.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:30am. Smithfield West Stake Center, 155 W 400 N, Smithfield, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a direct donation to the Gossner Cancer Center.
