Ursula Katrina Johanna Klemann-Teichman was born on March 1, 1922 in Berlin, Germany; she died on July 27, 2025, while residing in Maybrook, New York.

In Germany, Ursula completed 8th grade, attended Froebel Schule and became a professional nanny. During the war, Ursula worked as a tele typist and was given the most urgent telegrams to send because she was the fastest typist in the pool. In 1936, Ursula was a flag bearer in the opening ceremonies of the Berlin Olympics. Ursula survived all her five siblings and two half-brothers.

Ursula met her husband, Ludwig Teichman, in Berlin, Germany, during WWII; they married before the war ended. After the war, they returned Ludwig's home in Communist controlled Czechoslovakia, later escaped into Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1949. Ludwig became a contractor and built the family's first house in Yorktown Heights, NY, as well as two additional homes in Cortlandt, New York. Ursula helped her husband in every way she could, mostly by painting.

Ursula and Ludwig became naturalized U.S. Citizens on January 9th, 1956; their three European-born children became naturalized citizens as well. Each of Ursula's four children were born in a different country: Karin in Poland (1944), Sonja in Cheb, Czechoslovakia (1946), Robby in Mellrichstadt, Germany (1948) and, Vera in Peekskill, New York, U.S.A (1952). Ursula worked as a seamstress in a leather factory and also in a hat factory. She eventually left factory work and operated a school bus for 17 years. Ursula became a widow at the young age of 48, when her husband Ludwig died in 1970, only 50 years old.

Two years later, Ursula sold her house in Westchester and moved to Orange County, New York, where she continued to be an active member of the Jehovah Witnesses for the rest of her life. Ursula purchased a single-family house in Maybrook and had her brother, Gunther, add an upstairs apartment. She rented the apartment, at different times, to each of her two daughters with children. Ursula was a hands-on grandmother, often baby-sitting and caring for one or more of her eight grandchildren; she was deeply loved by all of them.

Ursula is survived by three children: Sonja Edwards (Ray) of Peekskill, NY; Robby Teichman (Celia) of Cortlandt Manor, NY; Vera Teichman of Maybrook, NY; and, she was predeceased by her daughter, Karin Terranova of Maybrook, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Catherine Hayden (Nate); Robby Teichman (Suzanne); Jonas; Brian; Eric Hallenbeck (Tara); and Victoria; her grandson, Chad, predeceased her. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Gianna; Isabella; Paige; Ava; and Callan.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 16 at 4:30 P.M. at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, 2905 Albany Post Road, Montgomery, NY 12549
