Chester T. Nantz of Wallkill, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Wallkill. He was 95.
The son of the late Chester and Madeline Thompson Nantz, he was born November 23, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY.
Chester was a Corporal in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1947-1952 and was activated during the Korean War 1950-1952. He was a licensed plumber and worked in plumbing and heating in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. Chester loved to go bowling, and playing golf, softball, and handball, both in his younger years and older age. He was a member and past Master (1960) of Ridgewood Lodge #710 Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his lovely wife Ellen M. Nantz of 68 years, his daughters and son Sheryl, Jeff and Dawn (Walter), his nine grandchildren Thomas, Wyatt, Harrison, Christopher, Joseph , Sabrina, Heather, Alexa and Charlie, and 8 great grandchildren, all of whom he will always love.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 11am-1pm at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bona Ventura Ave., Wallkill, NY 12589.
Interment of ashes and military honors will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hudson Valley Honor Flight, P.O. Box 375, Walden, NY 12586.
