Ursula L. Patrick of Noblesville was born in Leipzig, Germany and passed away on April 21, 2025.
She began music lessons at age six and became skilled on the piano, organ and accordion. When she was about nine years old, she began organ lessons at the famous St. Thomas Kirche (Church) in Leipzig where Johann Sebastian Bach had been the music director.
She received her degree from the Conservatory of Music in Munich. She immigrated to the United States, arriving in New York City in 1953. She joined her sponsor family in Indianapolis shortly thereafter.
She married William "Bill" Patrick in 1956. She became a naturalized United States citizen in 1958, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. She always implored her family to cherish the freedoms enjoyed as U.S. citizens.
She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. When her children were nearly grown, she began a 22-year part-time career with L.S. Ayres as a sales associate in the women's clothing department and received many awards for her exceptional customer service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Bill Patrick. She is survived by her children, William ("Brad") Patrick, Ursula ("Su") Schultz (Don), and Nancy Patrick; her grandchildren, Audra Renner (Tyler) and Spencer Moul; and her great-grandson, Owen Renner.
She loved spending summers at the family home on Lake Wawasee, and her “green thumb” produced beautiful flower arrangements and plants. She had a special place in her heart for the many hummingbirds she fed and enjoyed for many years.
Her cremains were interred at a private ceremony on the family plot at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Please direct donations to the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation. Arrangements were entrusted to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson (ARN) Mortuary.
