Utha Thornton Obituary
Jean was married to Oda Melvin Thornton for an extraordinary 76 years-a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together they built a life rooted in faith and family values that spanned nearly eight decades.
A devoted mother, she is survived by her daughter Connie Wilson and son Edward Thornton. Her legacy continues through five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who carry forward the warmth and strength she so generously shared.
Jean was a faithful Christian who served her Baptist church with dedication. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir, sharing her love of scripture and music with generations of congregants. Her commitment to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life.
Those who knew Jean remember her as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. A proud member of the Greatest Generation, she possessed a contagious smile and a personality that lit up every room she entered. Her kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all whose lives she touched.
