Uziah Major Collins, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin, lived a life defined by his pure heart, natural light, and genuine soul.
Born on June 10, 2007, in Albuquerque NM. Shortly thereafter, when Uziah was six years old, the family moved to Texas, where they planted roots, made Houston home, and raised their children.
On March 14, 2026 at the youthful age of 18, Uziah’s life came to a sudden end at the University of New Mexico Hospital, in Albuquerque NM.
He is survived by his parents, Myla and Brandon Lott; his siblings, Patience, Toure, and Zariah; his grandparents, Maurice and Theresa Edwards, Marlene and Greg Moten, Tom Lott; his aunts and uncles: Mashinda Edwards and Leann Jackson, Marixa Edwards, Capri Collins, Marcus Collins, Cecilia Collins, and Timothy and Terri Lott; and a large number of cousins.
They were preceded in death by, his dad Toure Collins; his grandmother Lynnette Lott
The first celebration of life will take place in Albuquerque, NM at Stronge-Throne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, 87106, on April 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
With a repast to be held immediately following at: Macedonia Baptist Church, 1509 Edith SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102
The second celebration of life and home going will take place in Houston, TX at Forest Park-The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 I-45 S. The Woodlands, TX, 77384, on April 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
We invite you to bring your favorite stories of Uziah, affectionately known as Yaya, to share with the family. The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.
