POLAND - Valarie L Vine, 74, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman surrounded by her family.
She was born September 25, 1950, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Brubaker Vine.
A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Valarie made her mark as head majorette. Throughout her life, she maintained a zest for learning and growth, which was matched by her love for travel, particularly adventures shared with her girlfriends.
Valarie enjoyed a successful 42-year career with Dominion Gas Company, where she began her journey as a front desk receptionist and retired in a management role. Her unwavering commitment to her work became a source of pride for her and a testament to her strong work ethic.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Valarie cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She took immense pride in her son and his family, especially her grandchildren, Tyler and Hailey, whom she adored and passionately supported at their sporting events. Valarie's love and devotion to her family are a profound testament to the values she held dear.
After retiring, Valarie found fulfillment in giving back to her community, volunteering at Akron's Children's Hospital. Her compassionate heart extended to all who crossed her path, making her a beloved figure in the lives of many. Valarie also found enjoyment through her book clubs and playing Mahjong in her spare time.
Valarie is survived by her son, Ben (Carole) Canfield of Poland; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Hailey Canfield; her sister, Carol Nussle of Cleveland; her brother, Bob (Diane) Vine of St. George, UT; and her former husband, Robert Podolsky of Poland.
A visitation will be held on December 21, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home - Poland Chapel, located at 2726 Center Rd, Youngstown, OH 44514.
She will be laid to rest at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
