Valerie "Val" Botos Obituary
Valerie "Val" Annette Botos, 72, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 31, 1952, in Bedford, Indiana, to the late Charles E. and Barbara (Robison) Boyd. She married the love of her life, Randall Richard Botos, on March 11, 1994.
Val graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1970, and went on to work for the Midtown Community Mental Health Center where she retired as the office manager. Val had a witty sense of humor, never met a stranger, and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was kind and loved animals, taking in numerous dogs, and cats that were abandoned through the years. Val will be remembered most for the love she had for her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Randall "Randy" Botos; children, Laura (Will) Johnston, Christopher Atchason, Paula (Allan) Johnson and Kevin Botos; and grandchildren, Zach, Jarrod, Kamryn, Emma, Megan, Joseph, Nic, Kelsey, Colin, Henry and Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Douglas Atchason; and brother, Michael Boyd.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, August 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Gail Stutz officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Southside Animal Shelter, Alzheimer's Association, or Franciscan Hospice. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
