Valerie Jean Kraemer, a long-time resident of Clawson, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, after an illness. She was 76 years old.

Valerie was born on September 11, 1948, in Niles, Michigan, to the late Howard and Vivian (née Laws) Moore. She was raised in Niles and graduated from Niles High School with the class of 1966. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in teaching from Michigan State University before beginning a long career with JCPenney, where she worked until her retirement.

Valerie lived a full and active life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and baking for her family. She also had a love for downhill skiing, often traveling out West-especially to Colorado-to pursue the sport. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, having visited destinations such as Alaska and New Zealand.

Family was the center of her world, and she especially cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She lovingly cared for her granddaughter Julia during her first year of life and frequently visited Colorado to spend precious time with her other grandchildren, Kinnan and Kendall.

Valerie is survived by her children, Matthew (Rebecca) Kraemer and Michelle Helm; her grandchildren, Kinnan Helm, Julia Kraemer, and Kendall Helm; and her sisters, Margaret Parker and Diana (Darryl) Everman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Vivian Moore.

Funeral services for Valerie will be private. The family kindly requests no flowers, gifts, or other contributions.
