Van leaves to treasure his memory a special cousin, Mack Johnson, special friends, Joe Miles, George Thomas, John L. Cook, Howard (CB# 14) and his friends at the Governor Street garage. Van worked for Coca Cola Canning Co. for many years until the company was resolved. He worked for RaceWay, John Lackie, and for the Borough of Bogota, Bogota, NJ. Van loved to have fun and spent hours talking on his CB. He enjoyed partying with his friends and family. He cherished playing with his nieces and nephews and showed his love for all the kids. He was always willing to give a helping hand to family and friends. Van leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife of forty-one years, Kathleen Manns; five brothers, Leroy (Ida) Manns of Paterson, NJ, Mack (Althea) Manns of Killeen, TX, Kenneth (Mary) Woolridge of East Orange, NJ, Alex (Genoveva) of Pembroke Pine, FL, and Frank Manns of Farmville, VA; four brothers-in-laws, Earl Watson, Joe Coles, Sol Adamson, Nathaniel, Horace and Calvin Bryant; three sisters-in-law, Ollie Nether, Lillie Adamson and Annette Bradley; and a host of nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, neighbors and a very dear friend Mr. John. I have finished now with this house of clay, Please kindly and carefully lay it away. And let me rest from this life of pain, Toiling in sunshine, storm and rain. Please no sad hearts, no hung down heads. Do not weep for me for I AM NOT DEAD. I no longer need this house of clay, So tenderly, carefully lay it away.
