Vander was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Swain and Vander Brown; sister, Mary Lee Swain Sassnett.
Vander Brown leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Tanisha Brown; sister, Inez (Kenneth) Stewart; brothers, Dr. Jimmie L.R. (Dr. Sandra) Green, Leroy P. "Bally" (Rose Mary) Swain, Felix (Brenda) Swain, David T. (Antoinette) Brown; Henry D. (Arlene) Green from another mother; uncle, Clarence Brown; aunt, Josephine Brown; granddaughter, TA'Liayah Brown; grandson, Titus Bowen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many devoted friends.
We extend a "special thanks" to his manager "Katy" and her staff at the "Tasty's Restaurant" where "Rod" worked. He started his career in the cooking industry after leaving school and became a chef.
