Vanessa Olivia Davis was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 21, 1958 to the late Willie and Alice (Treadway) Davis. She was the oldest of three children.
Vanessa was educated in the Detroit Public School system as well as private school.
Vanessa worked for Delta Airlines preparing and stocking carts for 15 years, se loved watching the planes take off and land. Vanessa loved to travel, her favorite destination was the Bahamas. She was as she put it, "in her element", something about the water was so calming to her. Later in life she moved on from the airport and worked as a Ticketmaster for Marshall Fields, now known as Macy's where she retired to fully take on adopting and raising her five grandchildren, Malik, Sharlett, Makayla, Caiden and Terrell. Vanessa had her hands full but not once did she complain. Her favorite ting to say was " those are my babies and if not me ten who."
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025; Vanessa completed her earthly assignment and made her transition from labor to reward. She leaves to cherish her life: three children, Tomeco, Clifton and Starla; nine grandchildren; Brittany, Sarlett, Malik, Makayla, Caiden, Novah, Nolen, Tamesha and Terrell; one great grandson, Elijah; tow brothers Dennis ( Traci) and Donald ( Patrice); three nieces; Nyia, Tiaira and Paris; six nephews; Dennis II, Devin, Jaxon, Donald II, Darius and Daunte; and a host of family and friends.

I met Vanessa while working at the Mayor of Inkster's office. She needed help and we were able to accomodate her, but her sweet voice and personality were so compelling and comforting that we kept in touch as the last 4 years went on.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother being the matriarch for two generations. She raised most of her Grandchildren as a few of her children lived with her when they needed to. Vanessa would have wanted nothing different.

I was worried since March when my calls and texts went unanswered---we are the same age and know the nature of life. Patient as Job with the medical issues that plagued her the last years, she never complained and kept going until The Creator decided she needed the rest and brought her home to Him. Surely, From God We Come and to God We Return.

It was my thought when i searched for her obit and found it as soon as i put in her name. Even though she told me she didn't think she had much time left...it was a sad shock.

From God We Come and To God We Return.
Rest in peace and tranquility---and May God help ease the pain of her family leflt behind. In time.

My condolences to her family still earthside.
Ameen. Ameen. Ameen.
