Vanessa "Ness" Garcia, age 44. God called our Ness home on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at her home. Ness was born on December 16th, 1980, in Roswell, NM to Larry and Barbara Garcia. She lived most of her life in Socorro, NM. Ness was a very beautiful, caring, thoughtful, kind-hearted, loving person. She worked for the Socorro County Department and the Socorro Detention Center she was a hard worker, very passionate about the work she did to help others.
She was the founder of the RISE program at the detention center, she was very dedicated to helping the inmates RISE up to better their lives. Ness graduated from Socorro High School, class of 1999, she then went on to study for her Bachelor's in Criminal and Social Justice at Ashford University. She also achieved numerous academic certificates and degrees, Ness worked very hard to reach her dreams. Ness loved to spend time with all her family, she enjoyed cookouts with a nice fire if it was cold. She loved to cook and have a clean home, everything she made was made with love.
She enjoyed watching the Steelers play, watching movies, being outdoors, going for long cruises, jamming to her music. She enjoyed having long conversations with family & friends, she always knew exactly what to say to make you feel loved. Ness has moved on to be at peace in a better place, she will never be forgotten. We will all cherish and hold our memories with our Ness close to our hearts forever, we love you our beautiful guardian angel.

Vanessa is preceded in death by her Baby Boy, Grandmother Elisa Garcia, Grandfather Sam Garcia, Grandmother Ethel Stock, Grandfather Henry T, Tio Ronnie Garcia, Tio Henry Garcia, Tia Jenny Garcia, Brother Sammy Garcia, Sister Patricia (Trish) Garcia, cousin Julian Garcia, cousin Gilbert (Tinky) Garcia, cousin Monica Garcia, Mother In Law Gloria Sedillo, Grandmother in law Elisa Garcia (Grandma Garcia), Father in Law Rudy Sedillo, Brother in Law Alvin Sedillo, nephew Johnny "P" Peralta, nephew Kevin Sedillo, friend Tazmin Apodaca.
A memorial service will be held for Vanessa on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Family Christian Center in Socorro. A reception will follow at 1404 Enterprise Rd. Socorro, NM. The family will also be having a rosary at the gathering.
