On Monday, October 2, 2023, God picked his precious Angel Vanessa Marie Bullard Posey, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend, and gave her beautiful wings.
Vanessa Marie Bullard Posey was born on August 22, 1961, in Pascagoula, MS, to the late Lena Mae Stanton and Jimmy Lee Bullard.
Vanessa Marie (Bullard) Posey attended school at M.F. Nichols High School, later on she received her GED. She worked as a Cafeteria worker at Popps Ferry Elementary School, Biloxi High School, Lopez Elementary School, for over 15 years. Later in life she started cooking at Casino Magic and Palace Casino for over 10 years. Vanessa was a hard worker. Vanessa loved to cook for her children and others. Vanessa had a loving and warm spirit. She helped the elderly in her community.
Vanessa was well loved by her family. When you see her, she kept a smile on her face. Through good times and bad, her fight was for her children. Anyone who knew Vanessa felt love from a genuine place, a heart of gold.
Vanessa Marie Bullard Posey was a faithful member of Main Street Missionary Baptist Church throughout her years under the leadership of Rev. Kenneth Haynes, later on she mover under the leadership of Rev. Ruffin at New Beginnings and shortly after she moved her membership to DP Nation of Biloxi, MS, under the leadership of Pastor Greg Whitfield, until her health failed. Vanessa loved to worship and praise God who was the head of her life even through sickness.
Vanessa Marie Bullard Posey leaves to cherish her 4 beautiful daughters, Yoshico (Farrah) Posey, Quiasha Larkin, Phyllis Bullard, Jamia Parker, all of Biloxi, MS, 4 handsome sons, Jermaine Posey, Joseph (Koshena) Posey, Phillip Bullard, and the baby of them all James Arthur Lee Bullard, all of Biloxi, MS, 24 grandchildren, Joseph, Kyree, Ja’Hiem, Jy’Quaris, Jy’Nyiah, Ajaya, Madison, Ramyiah, Joel, Josiah, Lincoy, Linquez, Tytiana, Kamyiah, Zayden, River, Alex, Tegan, Amari, Jermaine, Jazyiah, Jahari, Jameron, Janessa, 1 great grandchild Nevaeh, all of Biloxi, MS, 3 sisters, Cynthia Mims, of Ocean Springs, MS, Linda Bullard, of Houston, TX, Alfreda Moore of Gulfport, MS, 3 brothers, Daryll Johnson, Shannon Bullard, Martin Williams, all of Biloxi, MS, 1 God-Sister Mary Funches, 1 God-brother, Walter Beard, 1 God-daughter Cynthia Cropper of Washington, DC, 6 loving cousins, Janise Denise Bullard Bland, Tina, Keeshae, Felicia, Ladonna Gines, Louise Odom, 1 devoted and loving aunt Luvern Gines, her long time partner James Parker, a very special friend Nacotra Lanier of Powder Springs, Georgia, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and relatives and friends.
Vanessa Marie Bullard Posey was preceded in death by both of her parents Lena Mae Posey Stanton, Jimmy Lee Bullard, her grandmother Leola Mae Posey, her great-grandparents Pearlie Posey and Rev. Arthur Posey, 2 beautiful daughter, Theresa Posey and Jamie Parker, 2 sisters Mary Bullard and Shauntae Anderson, 1 brother Larry Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Main Street Baptist Church, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will start at 1:00 pm.
