Vanessa Rios Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 4, 2025.
Vanessa Rios has returned to the embrace of her creator this past Sunday, June 1st, 2025. Her struggle with stomach cancer has now ended, and she is at rest. She leaves behind two children, Lauren and Phoenix, her mother Alice, her husband Jose, and a large extended family totaling over 70 relatives.
Known in life for her dedication to her spiritual beliefs, she was also an artist, a mother, a wife, and a friend.
As a person she was stubborn, loud, and yet also contemplative. Those that knew her got to experience many different facets of her passionate personality. Despite her introversion, she had a wide variety of friends that she kept contact with, some even remaining from childhood. One she even got to call her sister-in-law, another her husband.
Always the rolling stone, she got to call eight different states across two different countries home: Illinois, Jalisco, California, New Mexico, Michigan, Texas, New Jersey, and New York. Her career spanned over 20 years in media, published in several outlets. Her creative pursuits were spread out between audio, literary, and visual mediums. In school she pursued broadcasting, starting her journey at Columbia College in Chicago, IL.
In light of her chronic health issues, we pray that she is truly able to rest now.
