Vang Yang Obituary

Vang was born in Laos on April 20,1961. In 1976 she immigrated to Osage, Iowa with her mother, brother, and three sisters. Vang married Bla Yang in 1978 and together, they raised 11 children and have 19 grandchildren.
In her free time, Vang enjoyed selling her produce at the Farmers Markets, traveling and spending time with her family. When she wasn't spending time with her family, she would be found in her garden nurturing her plants and vegetables.
Vang's Christian faith was an essential part of her life. She enjoyed participating in the women's choir and giving back through the ministry groups.
Vang was preceded in death by her grandmother, (Zaa Her Chang); father, (Wang Chou); brother, (Bee Her).
Vang is survived by her husband, Bla Ying Yang; mother, Pang Her; sisters, Shoua Yang, Choua Yang, Gloria Jones; Children, Carolyn (Kevin) Ritsema, David Yang, Joshua (Alexandria) Yang, Andrew Yang, Lisa (Chris) Kayser, Candace Yang, Matthew Yang, Jessica Yang, Johanna (Jay) Yang, Elizabeth (Phap) Lam, and Tika Yang. She was also survived by her 19 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held March 10 & 11, 2023 at the Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, 3211 Hubbell Ave Des Moines, IA 50317. Any donations can be directed to the family.
